"Trust me, my dear, you'll be happy." What he didn't tell her was she would be happier because she'd be programmed to be happy.

She gave away everything that made her human, including her emotions and thus happiness.

But it was necessary! Everyone knows that efficiency and workplace recognition are the most important things in a young woman's life. Academia told us so, and they wouldn't ever lie to us...

Very, very interesting story. I always like to look up name meanings to see what the author was trying to say. Was it a specific choice?

Assuming you mean Lenetta, no, there isn't a specific meaning there. I saw the name on the side of a box of card stock I have in my color mixing room at work lol

It works well! I saw that it meant bird or idol and supposed there was a link to a trapped songbird. I had an english teacher moment, it seems 😂
