Dark fantasy is like a brooding storm cloud; without a silver lining there isn't much point. What a beautiful and invigorating way to allow a grim story time to breathe, and give the actors a moment's respite.
Moments of respite from the brooding and tension of such stories are necessary for the darker elements to have their proper impact. I wanted to ensure that was kept in mind and such a moment was given after Erik's struggle was resolved. Plus it also helps to give a little depth and flavor to the culture, so that's a fun bonus, too!
