There's got to be more. I want to see more interplay between White paw and the woman.

This needs to be a serial.

I don't know that this specific story will expand into a serial, but I do plan to write more with Blackpaw and White-eye, and possibly Carolyne and the Captain as well.

Really enjoyed this. Bravo! Pulp fiction of this caliber hasn't been written for seventy years at least!

Great action! I want to find out where the Captain and Carolyne came from though.. maybe a final wrap-up episode??

Well there's two ways to find out. One of them is to read one of my other stories on here, "The Keykeeper's Heart." The other is to read my webcomic Phoenix Rising, which is linked on my top page. The Blue-Jay is featured in the early stages of the comic and the short story has a couple characters from said comic visiting the city it originally came from. As for Carolyne and the Captain themselves, I may bring them back for future stories, but I likely won't be exploring where they came from in anything that's written in Blackpaw's perspective.

This was good, but there's one glaring flaw in the serial as a whole...

It ended.

This has been the highlight of Saturday, five Saturday's running. I've already said over and over what's good about it (monster description, primitive perspective). I'll just end by adding that the final battle made for a visual, visceral finale. The demon head bursting out in tentacles (which then catch flame when destroyed) and Blackpaw exploding through a burning pyre are pictures worthy of a magazine cover.

All good things must end sometime. If it didn't, then it'd be bound to overstay its welcome.

Blackpaw and White-eye will return, though. I've got a few ideas in mind for additional stories with them.
