Sword & Saturday, Week 38 - And Love You Shall Find
I am returned, and chapter 9-1 of The Jarl's Son comes with me! Furthermore, The Last Daughter of Dragons returns, and we look at the 13th century war that gave the kamikaze pilots their name.
Sharpen your blades, study your spells, and wet your quills, Swordsmen and Sorceresses! I may have slept poor and little last night, but that doesn’t stop Sword & Saturday from coming for its 38th week!
The first half of The Jarl’s Son, chapter 9 has released. With the celebration in Halvfjord coming to an end, Gaiur finds herself in the company of a lover for the first time in seven years.
If you’ve not yet started The Jarl’s Son, you can find part 1 of chapter 1, “The Road to Halvfjord”, here.
Additionally, I recently penned a generalized review of the first half of the extensive Lankhmar series by Fritz Leiber, the man credited with giving the sword & sorcery genre its name. The Lankhmar series comprises the chronologically ordered novelettes, novellas, and novels detailing the adventures of his own roguish heroic fantasy leads, the skaldic barbarian, Fafhrd, and the swordsman thief, the Gray Mouser.
At the time of this writing, Sword & Saturday has also seen the following work shared by our contemporaries:
Hot on the heels of finishing The Lord of the Lake,
comes back with the first chapter of her reworked release of The Last Daughter of Dragons, a sequel to the first Lake Autumna tale she shared with us, The Last Daughter of Wolves, which was a personal favorite of mine.- comes to us once more with a new chapter of his ongoing Rundelfall series, titled “Who Needs Enemies?”
This was mentioned on Warrior Wednesday, but bears mentioning again.
has begun the journey of fully publishing the first book of The Santara Commentaries, which is currently available on Kindle or in PDF versions for either paid subscribers or donators to his BMC page.- is a fixture of Sci-Friday with his brief but thought provoking essays. This week, he joins us for Sword & Saturday with a look at a 13th century naval battle between the Mongols and the Japanese, wherein Mother Nature herself decided the outcome.
That’s all for this morning, Swordsmen and Sorceresses. However, as always, be sure to keep an eye on things throughout the day, as more stories, poetry, and essays are sure to be published. Don’t forget to watch for the comprehensive afternoon digest from The Brothers Krynn as well! Until next time, keep your swords sharp, your spells honed, and your quills always at the ready!

Thanks for the mention - but i need to offer a correction. Its the latest not last. I think im about 40-50% of the way through this story arc. Much more crazy to come.
Thanks for the shout-out. A bit of correction, though. The PDF/ePub is for my Buy Me a Coffee (BMC), not KoFi.
